M.Arch Project 01 - Final Crit

We had our final crit of the first phase of the project today, and my feedback was predominantly as expected (to sum - still missing some of my workings, oh how maths teachers of old would be rolling their eyes). However, these are missing due to my continued troubleshooting of how best to diagrammatically represent them, rather than because I’m being lazy!

To start with, what I need are two network diagrams showing the context of the project within the wider social fabric I have designated. After speaking with a friend, I’ve figured that to a greater extent, what I am attempting to achieve is the solidification of a history, or histories, finding those threads and weaving them into a verifiable tapestry, denoting the evolution of communities both local and afar. This brings me back to the initial goal of the project - fighting misinformation. Culturally, one of the ways to do this is the solidification of a recognised and accepted history of a community, by that community; and failing that, a rigorous, precise cataloguing of each thread of discourse and disagreement such as to follow the entire thread from beginning to end with each knot of transfer or splitting clearly marked and followed. Critically, available for interrogation to all. A tapestry of histories to fight for a secure, coherent future. This brings us to the next quandary: how would such a project build and retain respectability and honour, in an age where fabrication runs rampant? How would a Foundation exist? What, precisely, is trust?
