Popped down to Hastings

I will fully admit that my mind may be playing tricks on me, but if I had been to Hastings before, it was likely for a school trip when I was still very young. Or with a classmate around the same time.

Either way, I don’t have much of a memory of Hastings, so I took the train down to have a wander around, visited the dRMM pier - which has quite the history of developer/owner hell (apologies for the AJ links, they’ll likely be paywalled) – and walked my way along the coast towards St Leonards. There is still plenty of Hastings/St Leonards left to explore, and one day (when my bicycle is back and fixed…) I think I’d like to take the bike down, and perhaps on to Rye.

Fortunately, the coast was blessed with gorgeous Sun yesterday, even though it was a bit blowy, and as such, I attempted to get some playful shots of the shape of light, especially in the pedestrian underpasses, and ventured underneath the pier for some details. However, the latter of which didn’t come out as well as I would have liked, so all the more reason to go back one day – as there is still plenty to explore down the Eastern shoreline, which I neglected this time around.
