Apologies for skipping a week. Term is drawing to a close and things are getting increasingly tiring and frantic.
We had our formative review for the second project - bodyscapes_b a.k.a “architectural graft” - on Friday, and I felt it went well. In the sense that nothing came up which I wasn’t already aware of. I have details I need to finish on the elevation & section drawings, add a structural element to the plan (Monday’s job); along with iterating on the elevation collage - it was the first of this design I did, and it shows: need to tweak it a bit. Also, need to write the 150 word statement, throw in some more background research and I think that pretty much covers it. I’ll try and remember to get some pictures of the orthographic projections & collages next week to post here.
I am more concerned about bodyscapes_a - the first project of the term. Some aspects I may or may not go into in a blog post another time. However, some aspects I can - I still need to do spatial observations of the outcome (ideally tomorrow’s job); re-read the brief and account for exactly what work is needed for the portfolio (already accounted for most of it during the last study week, but still some nagging concerns); other group members still feel that the premise of the project outcome is faulty (oh boy) and will be going back into Canterbury to figure that out.
Truthfully, this term has been difficult. I am hoping to pass all the projects & modules, and if that pass happens to be a good pass, then great. We have exam prep to do over the winter break (that is frankly more scary for me - last exam I sat was 6 years ago, so revision methods are a little rusty). I also still need to finish noting from the textbook (read about ¾ of it), so that’ll be next week’s commuting work.
