So, yesterday was Day 1 of the degree, here is an overview of what we got up to:

Yesterday we did a brainstorming session - what is (interior) architecture? What is an (interior) architect? It was a group exercise, and some groups came up with caricatures, others, such as ours, listed traits, skills, related disciplines or areas of overlap with other professions, in order to get a picture of what we perceive to be both architect and architecture.

Whilst the description may not paint it, the exercise was rather interesting. It certainly helps to see what other people’s thoughts are, as well as coalesce your own.

Today we’re doing an exercise in collage - drawing inspiration from Ben Nicholson’s “Appliance House”. Not quite sure what to expect from it yet.

Also, there is a piano that is more in-tune than the one in the bar. This makes me happy. ^_^
