This was Eldika’s sequence. We discussed doing a transit, and this was the result. I’m on the right, Elinore is on the left.
Week 2 - 35mm Photography 1/3
Week 2 was Lens Based Media. Brief was to create a sequence of images. We got to play with 35mm B/W film at one point, as well as be taught how to use a darkroom, which was rather fun. This was one of 4 sequences we did as a group, and the only sequence I shot. Model is Elinore Godin.
Week 1 - Collage + Photography
At the end of the first week, we were encouraged to make collages out of the things we had done previously. I’m not going to lie, by the time we were done with the first week, I was so far out of my comfort zone I felt the world spinning. On the final day, we had the opportunity to play with cameras, and I lept at the chance.
Charcoal & Ink
The first week was almost exclusively drawing techniques. Familiarising ourselves with different materials, marks and methods, as well as preparing us for failure.
3 weeks down
Well, it has been a busy, occasionally frightening, first 3 weeks back at Uni. I’ll show what I have been getting up to in the following posts.
We’re currently in the middle of what is called “The Carousel” - 5 intense weeks of focused exploration to help us figure out what we should be specialising in. Apparently we used to have the entire first trimester, however UCAS has since brought the application deadline into January for Art & Design subjects, and so the course has been crushed down.
Lens Based Media & 3D Design have been and gone, next week we start Visual Communications.
