Whilst it is fair to say that I have been interested in photography since I was a young child, the last few years have offered the opportunity for siginificant practice and improvement, and several visits to the Barbican over the last couple of years have greatly assisted with that.

The photo on the left really kicked off a wave of interest in discovering ‘alternate perspectives’ when investigating skyscrapers around the City of London. An obsession with grids and/or drawing perspectives that are innate to the discipline of architecture likely feeds into this.

Screwing with perspective isn’t just a matter of looking straight up. A recent addition to my available lenses has allowed me to focus in on more detailed elements and throw them into orientations that we may not originally consider.

Here the fascination with “looking up” melded with another obsession with a couple of favourite films of mine.

However, despite all the playing around with perspective, sometimes you just want to align a really cool shot…

…or two.
